BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Brewer has devoted almost his entire professional life to the training profession.  In 1980 he began his career as a multi-line agent for Prudential where he won numerous industry awards for sales and the quality of his business.  While at Prudential, his natural training abilities were noticed and he was appointed as Training Functional Specialist for both Property & Casualty and Variable Products lines of business.  He was responsible for training a fifty agent sales force in these markets.  Mr. Brewer was quickly promoted to Sales Manager, led a team of ten agents and continued with his training responsibilities. 

After the birth of his daughter Jennifer in 1984, Mr. Brewer began looking for greater challenges and in 1985 accepted a Marketing position with Aetna.  He also continued to have substantial training responsibilities.  Steve was promoted several times and transferred from Harrisburg to the much larger Washington D.C. office.  While at Aetna Steve began to realize that the training profession was his real passion and decided to refocus his career entirely in that direction.

As the years progressed, Mr. Brewer's positions were entirely focused on training and training management.  He was Assistant Director of Training at the Life Underwriter Training Council.  While there he authored several major training courses and created LUTC's first computer based training course.  Throughout his long career Mr. Brewer has also held significant training positions with CIGNA and Munich Re America.  He has consulted with several major insurance companies on training related initiatives. 

Mr. Brewer is an experienced project manager and has acted as PM on several enterprise level training projects.  He holds the PMP designation and is very active in the project management community.

An experienced speaker, Mr. Brewer has conducted workshops or forums at ASTD's International Conference, Society of Insurance Trainers & Educators annual conference, and Learning 2008. 

Philadelphia Insurance Companies in Bala Cynwyd PA is where Mr. Brewer spends his working time today.  He is the Training & Education Manager and has enterprise level responsibility for all internal and external training and education.  He leads a staff of seven that supports 1500 employees and 46 offices.  Mr. Brewer's team manages the development and delivery of approximately 240 classroom sessions, 250 webinars, and 18,000 e-learning module completions per year. 

Mr. Brewer lives in Havertown PA.  He has been married to his wife Gail for 32 years.  Gail is also in the insurance industry and works at AIG.  Their Daughter Jennifer lives in Drexel Hill.
